The sixth step is to add your credit card processing information. As you can see in the photo above, there are only a few fields needed to add this information. You'll add your state, your state's tax rate, whether or not you will charge tax on your shipping and your gateway information. If you already have a merchant account for a physical store, you will be able to set your cc processing to manual, if you wish.

Q: What's a gateway?

A: A gateway is your merchant account. Your shopping cart keeps track of all your products and the sales of those products. A gateway is how you accept credit cards through your online store. When you shop at a physical store and give the cashier your credit card, she'll take it and swipe it through a machine. When she's doing this, the information travels to a bank and comes back to accept or deny the credit charge. It all happens in a few seconds and this is exactly what your gateway does through your online store. It's your "swipe" machine, so to speak!
